Technical Specialist in Signal Technology, ERTMS Development

Job Responsibilities

As a technical specialist, you are at the core of our development project for the new signaling system ERTMS, which means you actively support the project with your expertise in modern digital signal technology. You will work in the ERTMS Preparatory department. ERTMS stands for European Rail Traffic Management System and aims for the digitalization of railways throughout Europe. It is a joint EU signaling system and a prerequisite for future automation and high-speed railways. The system simplifies traffic management and maintenance as well as cross-border traffic.

In this role, you will work with the project team to ensure that the signaling system technically meets the requirements. Job responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Conducting technical investigations
  • Analyzing system deviations
  • Testing the system's functionality
  • Supporting the team in technical questions, risk analyses, risk assessments, etc.

Continuously collaborating with other project functions and managing interfaces with adjacent systems is also central to achieving project goals and desired system quality. You will become part of the Development section, which is responsible for ordering development from our suppliers and following up throughout the development phase. You will have about 20 competent colleagues who are all passionate about the development of Swedish railways and modern signal technology.

Additional Information

The location for the position is Solna or Borlänge.

In this recruitment, web-based tests are used as part of the selection process. Interviews are scheduled to be conducted via Skype on April 3rd, 7th, and 8th.

Qualifications

Who are you?

The role involves many recurring contacts both internally and externally, which is why it is important that you are someone who thrives in contexts where you can collaborate and utilize your good communication skills. We are looking for someone who has

  • a degree in engineering with a technical focus or other education combined with relevant experience that we assess as equivalent
  • many years of current experience in requirements specification or development of signaling systems for the Swedish railway
  • current and relevant experience in testing complex database systems
  • good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you have

  • conducted technical investigations for the Swedish railway
  • worked with the Swedish Transport Administration's specifications for ERTMS
  • experience working with the CENELEC standard
  • current experience of commissioning signaling systems for the Swedish railway
